Subject: Resolution authorizing the City Manager to exercise the City's second option to renew for the
Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Transportation America, Inc., for the City of Miami On -Demand
Transportation Services.
Purpose of Item:
To authorize the City Manager to exercise the City's second option to renew for the Professional Services Agreement
("Agreement") with Transportation America, Inc., ("Transportation America") to provide On -Demand Transportation
Services ("The Services") throughout the City for the low income elderly and/or disabled, for an additional one (1) year
period, in the not to exceed amount of $262,505.60. Extension of this agreement is essential for continuity of ongoing
services to eligible City residents. Funds for the second year renewal period are to be allocated from the City's share of
the Transit Surtax.
Background Information:
Pursuant to Resolution No. R-12-0047, adopted February 9, 2012, the City executed an Agreement with Transportation
America to provide On -Demand Transportation Services throughout the City for the low-income elderly and/or disabled,
for a one (1) year period with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods.
Pursuant to Resolution No. R-13-0163, adopted on April 25, 2013, the City exercised the first year renewal option of its
Agreement with Transportation America in the not to exceed amount of $256,103.
In order to continue said services to eligible City residents and avoid undue hardship, especially to the low income
elderly or the disabled, the City must exercise its second year option to renew the Agreement. Funds for the second year
renewal option, in the not to exceed amount of $262,505.60, are to be allocated from the City's share of the Transit
Surtax.
