A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SECOND YEAR OPTION TO RENEW THE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH TRANSPORTATION AMERICA,
INC., TO PROVIDE ON -DEMAND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES THROUGHOUT
THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY"), FOR THE LOW INCOME ELDERLY OR DISABLED,
FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD, IN THE NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT
OF $262,505.60; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE
TRANSIT SURTAX.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12-0047, adopted February 9, 2012, the City of Miami
("City") executed a Professional Services Agreement ("Agreement") with Transportation America, Inc.,
("Transportation America") to provide on -demand transportation services to the City for the low income
elderly or disabled, for a one (1) year period with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year
periods; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 13-0163, adopted April 25, 2013, the City exercised its first
year renewal option with Transportation America in the not to exceed amount of $256,103,00; and
WHEREAS, in order to continue said services to eligible City residents and avoid undue hardship,
especially to the low income elderly or disabled, the City must exercise its second year option to renew
the Agreement in the not to exceed amount of $262,505.60; and
WHEREAS, funds for the second renewal period, in the not to exceed amount of $262,505,60, are
to be allocated from the City's share of the Transit Surtax;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to exercise the City's second year option to renew
the Agreement with Transportation America, Inc., to provide on -demand transportation services
throughout the City, for the low income elderly or disabled, for an additional one (1) year period, in the
not to exceed amount of $262,505.60, with funds allocated from the City's share of the Transit Surtax,
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
