Prior to the designation of the MiMo Historic District, all of the
previously designated historic districts were residential in
character and their design guidelines addressed single and
multifamily housing. Because the MiMo District is zoned for
commercial use, and the buildings constructed there were almost
all designated as commercial buildings ..., it is necessary to address
the special characteristics of the MiMo Historic District.
