HomeMy WebLinkAboutExhibit BExhibit B Description of Work Nature of the proposed improvements The proposal is to reconstruct the Flagler Street (the "Flagler") right of way (the "Streetscape") in order to activate the street and encourage redevelopment by: 1) Providing for the construction, reconstruction, repair, paving, repaving, hard surfacing, rehard surfacing, widening, guttering, and draining of streets, boulevards, and alleys; 2) Proving for the grading, regrading, leveling, laying, relaying, paving, repaving, hard surfacing, and rehard surfacing of sidewalks; 3) Providing related lighting, landscaping, street furniture, signage, and other amenities as determined by the governing authority of the municipality. 4) Order the construction, reconstruction, repair, renovation, excavation, grading, stabilization, and upgrading of sanitary sewers, storm sewers and all or part of a comprehensive stormwater management system, including the necessary appurtenances and structures. 5) Order the construction or reconstruction of water mains or water laterals. 6) Pay for the relocation of utilities, including the underground placement of electrical, telephone, and cable television services, pursuant to a voluntary agreement with the utility, but nothing contained in this paragraph shall affect a utility's right to locate or relocate its facilities on its own initiative at its own expense. When assessments are to be paid The Assessment, totaling One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00), shall be imposed proratedly to each property owner. There is a total of 4,205 linear feet of privately -owned parcel frontage on Flagler. Each parcel will be assessed an amount of $237.81 per linear foot. For those properties that have multiple owners associated with the parcel (e.g. office or residential condos), the total cost for that parcel's frontage is split evenly amongst all owners. The Assessment shall be paid One Hundred Twenty (120) days after the resolution approving the equalized assessment is adopted by the City Commission and contingent upon the Miami -Dade Board of County of Commissioners adopting a resolution that matches City funding of this Flagler Streetscape project. Total estimated cost of the improvement The total estimated cost of the Flagler Streetscape project is $12,000,000 of which property owners will pay $1,000,000 and the City of Miami and Miami - Dade County will pay equal shares of the remainder. * For an initial estimated breakdown please see attached PDF Estimated timeline of the improvement It is estimated that the Flagler Streetscape project will take between 18 and 20 months to complete. From the time that the County approves matching funds, it will take approximately four months to determine a winning bid and for construction to begin.
