Page 1 of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: Pursuant to Resolution No. 13-0141, adopted April 11, 2013, the Miami City Commission approved the adoption of the revised Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Program Policies to include the increase in the limit for commercial facade repairs from $10,000 to $20,000 and to eliminate matching fund contributions from business owners. On May 23, 2012, the City entered into a contract with RHHED in an amount of $40,500 for soft cost and $202,500 in hard cost for a total amount of $243,000. RHHED has spent .all .the soft and hard costs and currently has projects being completed in the amount of $100,000. The City of Miami ("City") needs to expedite the expenditure of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Funds to comply with its timeliness ratio. The Administration recommends the allocation of additional CDBG funds in the amount of $100,000 from the Citywide Reserve Account and allocating said funds as described in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated to continue implementing the Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Pilot Program within District 5 target areas.
