A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION OF THE REVISED COMMERCIAL FAQADE AND
CODE COMPLIANCE PILOT PROGRAM POLICIES TO INCLUDE THE INCREASE
IN THE LIMIT FOR COMMERCIAL FAQADE REPAIRS FROM $10,000 TO $20,000
AND TO ELIMINATE MATCHING FUND CONTRIBUTIONS FROM BUSINESS
OWNERS, AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0032, adopted January 13, 2005, the Miami City
Commission approved the adoption of the Commercial Code Compliance Program Policies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") needs to expedite the expenditure of Community
Development Block Grant funds to comply with its timeliness ratio; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for commercial facade and code compliance rehabilitation within the
City, but many business owners do not have the matching funds necessary to participate in these
programs; and
WHEREAS, the revised Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Pilot Program shall expire
January 31, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the adoption of the revised Commercial Facade
and Code Compliance Pilot Program Policies to increase the dollar limitation for facade repairs of a
single business project from $10,000 to $20,000 and to place a moratorium on the business owners'
contribution until the City Administration considers it appropriate to lift such moratorium;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The adoption of the revised Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Pilot Program
Policies, is authorized, to include the increase in the limit for commercial facade repairs from $10,000
to $20,000 and to eliminate matching fund contributions from business owners, as specified in Exhibit
"A", attached and incorporated.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
