A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT FUNDS FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2014-2015, IN THE PROJECTED AMOUNT
OF $646,649.00, FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT ("HUD") ENTITLEMENT GRANT FUNDS AND IN THE
PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $112,500.00 FROM PREVIOUS YEARS' PROGRAM
INCOME, FOR ATOTAL PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $759,149.00, IN THE PUBLIC
SERVICE CATEGORY, TO THE AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A",
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR PUBLIC SERVICE ACTIVITIES
BEGINNING APRIL 1, 2014; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
THE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") has
yet to release the final Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for Fiscal
Year 2014, and as such, the amount of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds being
recommended is a projection; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 13-0483, adopted December 12, 2013, the Miami City
Commission approved CDBG Program Year categories, allocating the projected amount of
$646,649.00 and the projected amount of $112,500.00 from previous years' Program Income, for a
total projected amount of $759,149.00 in the Public Service category; and
WHEREAS, the funding allocation account may need to be adjusted proportionately once
HUD confirms the final CDBG formula allocation for Program Year 2014-2015; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the allocation for 2014-2015 Program Year
CDBG funds, from HUD entitlement grants funds in the amount of $646,649.00 and the projected
amount of $112,500.00 from previous years' Program Income, for a total projected amount of
$759,149.00 in the public service category, to the agencies specified in Attachment "A", attached and
incorporated, for public service activities beginning April 1, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the funding allocation to such activities as specified in Attachment "A", may need
to be prorated once HUD confirms the final CDBG public service formula allocation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The allocation of CDBG funds for Program Year 2014-2015, in the projected

amount of $646,649.00 from HUD entitlement grants funds and in the projected amount of
$112,500.00 from previous years' program income, for a total projected amount of $759,149.00, in
the public service category, to the agencies specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated,
for public service activities beginning April 1, 2014, is authorized.
Section 3. These allocations will be adjusted in direct proportion to the actual allocation of
CDBG funds provided by HUD for the Program Year 2014-2015.
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, for said purpose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
