from Oracle Elevator Company, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, to furnish and install
new traction machines for elevators, for a total amount of $234,276.00. Funding is available from the
PTAEO Account: 40-B40410.05.1426.Equipment.241000 for a total bid amount of $234,276.00.
Further authorizing an owner construction contingency amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid
amount, in an amount of $23,427.60; allocating funds from account code (PTAEO):
40-B40410.05.1426.Equipment. 241000, for a not -to -exceed total of $257,703.60.
Background Information:
The General Services Administration (GSA) Department is in need of replacing the traction machines
for the elevators at the Miami Riverside Center (MRC) in order to maintain the elevators working
properly and for the safety of the residents and employees who utilize these elevators daily. On
November 18, 2013, the Procurement Department issued Invitation for Bid No. 391312. As required
by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued on-line. Two (2) bids were received by
the January 7, 2014 bid deadline. Oracle Elevator Company was the lowest responsive and
responsible bidder and is therefore recommended for award.
