A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE ANY AND ALL ACTIONS AUTHORIZED IN LAW OR IN
EQUITY, NECESSARY OR PERMITTED, AGAINST THE OWNER(S) OF ANY
ILLEGAL MURAL, BILLBOARD OR SIGN, AND AGAINST THE PROPERTY
OWNERS UPON WHICH SUCH MURALS, BILLBOARDS OR SIGNS ARE
ERECTED, WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, INCLUDING,
BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE ILLEGAL SIGN ERECTED ON THE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 299 SOUTHWEST 17TH ROAD, MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOLIO NO.
01-4138-002-0020, TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS,
WHETHER FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCAL, REGARDING SIGNAGE, AND, IN
ADDITION, THE CITY MANAGER IS DIRECTED TO REPORT TO THE CITY
COMMISSION ON A BI-MONTHLY BASIS WITH A LIST OF ILLEGAL MURALS,
BILLBOARDS OR SIGNS LOCATED WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, AND THE ACTION TAKEN TO DATE TO BRING SAID MURALS,
BILLBOARDS AND SIGN INTO COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS,
WHETHER FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCAL REGARDING SIGNAGE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Attorney is directed to institute any and all actions authorized in law or in
equity, necessary or permitted, against the owner(s) of any illegal mural, billboard or sign, and against
the property owners upon which such murals, billboards or signs are erected, within the jurisdiction of
the City of Miami, including, but not limited to, the illegal sign erected on the property located at 299
Southwest 17th Road, Miami, Florida, Folio No. 01-4138-002-0020, to ensure compliance with all
applicable laws, whether federal, state or local, regarding signage.
Section 2. In addition, the City Manager is directed to report to the City Commission on a
bi-monthly basis with a list of illegal murals, billboards or signs, located within the jurisdiction of the
City of Miami, and the action taken to date to bring said murals, billboards and signs into compliance
with all applicable laws, whether federal, state or local, regarding signage.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
