A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF POVERTY INITIATIVES PROGRAM FUNDS,
TOTALING $190,500.00, IN THE AMOUNTS AND TO THE AGENCIES AS
SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR PUBLIC
SERVICE ACTIVITIES FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2013-2014 BEGINNING APRIL 1,
2013, FROM ACCOUNT NO. 14010.910101.882000; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, WITH SAID AGENCIES, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, due to the decrease of available Community Development Block Grant funds starting
from the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year, all Public Service agencies' allocations have been reduced by
approximately thirty-four percent (34%); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to allocate funding to cover public service program
shortfalls for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 from the Poverty Initiatives Program Fund, Account No.
14010.910101.882000 as these funds were transferred from the General Fund Non -Departmental
Account No. 00001.980000.891000; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recommends the allocation of funds from the Poverty Initiatives,
totaling $190,500.00, in the amounts and to the agencies as specified in Attachment "A", attached and
incorporated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The allocation of the Poverty Initiatives Program funds, totaling $190,500.00, in the
amounts and to the agencies as specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, for public
service activities for the Program Year 2013-2014 beginning April 1, 2013 from Account No.
14010.910101.882000, is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute agreements, in a form acceptable to the
City Attorney, with said agencies, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
