Hannon City Clerk Date: December 16, 2013 Subject: Equal Opportunity Advisory Board References: Agenda for January 9, 2014 Enclosures: List of members The Equal Opportunity Advisory Board, a Fourteen (14) member board was created to review and recommend to the City Commission the adoption of amendments/revisions to the City's affirmative action plan. The board also reviews employment policies and practices of the City and makes recommendations to the Depaituient of Employee Relations. Eleven (11) appointments are required at this time: • Chair Marc David Sarnoff has two (2) nominations for seats currently: 1. Vacant.* 2. Michael Barket, incumbent, whose term expires on March 14, 2014, has exceeded the number of allowed absences (4 in 2013), and would require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance. • Vice Chair Wifredo (Willy) Gort has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Jordana Zarut, incumbent, whose term expires on September 12, 2014, has exceeded the number of allowed consecutive absences (3 in 2013), and will require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance. • Commissioner Frank Carollo has two (2) nominations for seats currently:t 1. Vacant. 2. Vacant. • Commissioner Francis Suarez has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Edilfa Perez, incumbent, whose term expires on March 14, 2014, has exceeded the number of allowed absences (4 in 2013), and will require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance. • Commissioner Keon Hardemon has two (2) nominations for seats currently held by: 1. Louis Marshall III, incumbent, whose term expired on May 13, 2011, has exceeded the number of allowed absences (5 in 2012 and 4 in 2010), and will require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance.** • FOP has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Viona Brown, incumbent, whose term expired on March 8, 2013, has served as a member since February 8, 2001, and will require a term waiver by a unanimous (5/5) vote of the Commission» • AFSCME 871 has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Corey Taylor, incumbent, whose term expired on September 13, 2013, has exceeded the number of allowed consecutive absences (5 in 2013), and the number of allowed absences (6 in 2013), and will require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance.$$ For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board.
