RE: Civil Service Board vacancy
Pursuant to the attached letter of resignation from Board member Christine Gomez, dated April 2,
2013, the City of Miami Civil Service Board is operating with only 4 of 5 members. In accordance
with Section 36 of the City of Miami City Charter which states, "Any vacancy shall be filled by the
City Commission for the unexpired term", as Board liaison, I am requesting that the City
Commission appoint a replacement to Ms. Gomez' seat, to serve through April 26, 2014.
Please place this item on the Commission Agenda for the meeting of April 11, 2013, or as soon as
possible. If additional information is required, please contact us at (305) 416-2020.

Dear Mr. Hannon,
It is with regret that I am writing to Inform you of my decision to resign my position on the Civil
Service Board, effectively immediately.
I have accepted a position within the police department hat would place me in conflict as a
member of the board. I want to thank the members of the board as well as the support staff
for their professionalism and dedleation to the employes of the City of Miarni.
