A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING A DONATION IN
THE AMOUNT OF $36,000.00, FROM THE SARNOFF FOUNDATION, INC. TO THE
CITY OF MIAMI TO DEFRAY ANY RELATED COSTS FOR THE PAYMENT OF RENT
FOR A NEW CITY OF MIAMI POLICE SUBSTATION IN THE WEST GROVE TO BE
LOCATED AT 3727 GRAND AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR A TERM OF TWO
(2)YEARS, WITH SAID AMOUNT TO BE PAID IN TWO (2) EQUAL INSTALLMENTS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,000.00, AND THE FIRST PAYMENT TO BE MADE IN
DECEMBER, 2013 AND THE REMAINING $18,000.00 TO BE MADE IN
DECEMBER, 2014; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID DONATION.
WHEREAS, 3700 Grand Avenue, LLC, c/o Anthony Parrish ("Landlord"), owns the property
located at 3727 Grand Avenue, Miami, Florida ("Premises"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is desirous of renting the Premises to obtain increased
police visibility and presence for the residents living in the West Grove and surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, the City's Police Department has an urgent need to rent the space for a police
substation; and
WHEREAS, the Landlord is willing to offer the Premises to the City at a yearly rental rate of
$18,000.00 per year; and
WHEREAS, the Sarnoff Foundation, Inc. has graciously agreed to donate the amount
necessary to pay the above -referenced rent for a period of two (2) years;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. A donation in the amount of $36,000.00 from the Sarnoff Foundation, Inc. to the
City, to defray any related costs for the payment of rent for a new City Police Substation in the West
Grove to be located at 3727 Grand Avenue, Miami, Florida, for a term of two (2) years, is accepted,
with said amount to be paid in two (2) equal installments in the amount of $18,000.00, and the first
payment to be made in December, 2013, and the remaining $18,000.00 to be paid in December,
2014.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement the acceptance of said donation.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
