Purpose of Item: A Resolution of the Miami City Commission with attachments, by a four -fifths (4/5ths) affirmative vote, after noticed public hearing ratifying, approving and confirming the City Manager's recommendation and findings that it is in the best interest of the City of Miami ("City") to waive the requirements for competitive bidding procedures pursuant to Section 18-85 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended; authorizing the City Manager to execute a Lease Agreement ("Agreement"), by and between the City of Miami ("City") and 3700 Grand Avenue, LLC, c/o Anthony Parrish ("Landlord"), in substantially the attached form, for the purpose of a Police Substation, and setting forth a base rent of $18,000 a year payable at a rate of $1,500 a month to be paid at the sole cost and expense by the Sarnoff Foundation ("Foundation") for the property located at approximately 3727 Grand Avenue, Miami, Florida ("Premises"), for a term of two (2) years commencing on the effective date of the Agreement. Director'/��, City Manager Page 1 of 2 SUPPLEMENTAL PAGE Subject: A Resolution, with attachments, waiving the requirements for competive bid procedures and execute a Lease Agreement between the City and 3700 Grand Avenue LLC. Background Information: The City of Miami ("City") is desirous of obtaining increased police visibility and a police presence for the residents living in the west Grove and surrounding neighborhoods and increase security and deter crime in this location. 3700 Grand Avenue, LLC, c/o Anthony Parrish ("Landlord") owns a property located at 3727 Grand Avenue, Miami, Florida (the "Premises") and the Police Department has an urgent need to rent this space for a police substation. The Landlord is willing to offer the Premises to the City for an $18,000.00 year rent for the increased police presence and visibility to be afforded by the City of Miami Police Department and the City is desirous of renting the Premises. The lease payments shall be paid at the sole cost and expense of the Sarnoff Foundation ("Foundation") therefore there shall be no cost to the City for the lease of the Premises. Page 2 of 2
