Subject: A Resolution accepting a grant from Miami -Dade County Office of Grants Coordination for
the Records Improvement Project
Purpose of Item:
It is recommended that the Miami City Commission adopt the attached Resolution to establish a new
Special Revenue Project entitled: "Records Improvement Project" consisting of a grant from the
Miami -Dade County Office of Grants Coordination, in the amount of $15,745; authorizing the City
Manager to enter into an agreement, with Miami -Dade County to accept said grant award and to
execute the necessary documents, in substantially the attached form, to implement the acceptance
and administration of said grant.
Background Information:
This grant will support overtime hours within the Records Unit of the Department of Police specifically
for the entry of police reports in the Law Records Management System (LMRS). The entry of data is
essential in order to comply with mandated UCR (Uniformed Crime Report) requirements and to make
reports readily accessible to citizens, police personnel, and the State Attorney's Office.
