His participation as Chairman of the Hemispheric Congress and member of the City Commission will be key to the mission's successful implementation and enable to further the mission goals and objectives. Accordingly, the Commissioner presence, as official representative of the City, and as Chair of the Hemispheric Congress of Latin Chambers of Commerce and Industry will be crucial to the achievement of the mission objectives. The mission dates are from October 27th to Oct. 31, 2013. To that end, these objectives include the establishment of business linkages for increased economic opportunities and growth. As such, these solid linkages and initiatives will lead to economic growth and job creation and will have direct and indirect benefits for the City of Miami. This mission will include significant initiatives of benefit for the City. Meetings have been confirmed with the President of Paraguay and leading public and private sector representatives; including the Chamber(s) of Commerce, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Transportation, Commerce, Tourism and Culture. Additionally, the directorate of the Permanent Secretariat of the Congress comprised of the Presidents of the leading chambers of commerce throughout the region and Spain will also be in attendance/ The mission is being conducted in accordance with current U.S. policy with the Republic of Paraguay. Additionally, the mission objective will include the promotion of Foreign Direct Investment from Paraguay to South Florida and to promote how to do business in Miami, a seminar as well as a business matchmaker session. The United States and Paraguay have a robust dialogue about economic issues. Through continuous engagement, the U.S, is working alongside Paraguayan Government to deepen our economic relations through business development initiatives as well as institutionalized bilateral mechanisms. Additionally, the Republic of Paraguay currently holds the seat of the presidency of the Hemispheric Congress and will be bringing an extensive delegation to Miami for the upcoming Hemispheric Congress which will translate into financial and business transactions for our city, our business and our residents. This Mission will continue to strengthen the City's role as an important international City.
