HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-13-0389City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-13-0389 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 13-00877 Final Action Date: 9/26/2013 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GENERAL EMPLOYEES' & SANITATION EMPLOYEES' EXCESS BENEFIT PLAN ("GESE EXCESS BENEFIT PLAN") FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2013 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2014, IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $109,307, EXCLUDING THE ACTUARIALLY DETERMINED ANNUAL BENEFIT PAYMENT, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE GESE EXCESS BENEFIT PLAN. WHEREAS, under Section 40-265 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, a Board of Trustees is appointed as the committee to administer the City of Miami General Employees' & Sanitation Employees' Excess Benefit Plan ("GESE Excess Benefit Plan"); and WHEREAS, a budget is required to properly administer the GESE Excess Benefit Plan; and WHEREAS, the budget of the GESE Excess Benefit Plan for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 has been reviewed by the Board of Trustees of the GESE Excess Benefit Plan and found to be acceptable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The annual budget of the GESE Excess Benefit Plan for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2013, and ending September 30, 2014, attached and incorporated, in the amount not to exceed $109,307, excluding the actuarially determined annual benefit payment, to provide for the administration of the GESE Excess Benefit Plan, is approved and adopted. Section 3. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
