OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, THROUGH THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HOMELESS TRUST ("TRUST"); FORA TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIOD,TO PROVIDE OUTREACH, INFORMATION, REFERRAL, ASSESSMENTAND PLACEMENT SERVICES TO HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY; ALLOCATING THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $74,558, FROM THE CITY'S 2013 MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT GRANT ACCOUNT NO. 14800.910501.513000.0000.000000; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENTTHE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT AWARD, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIODS, WITH THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS SUBJECT TO FUTURE ALLOCATION BY THE TRUST. WHEREAS, in December, 2012, the Miami Homeless Assistance Program ("Program") successfully secured a grant award in the amount of $298,234, from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, through the Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust ("Grantee") for a twelve (12) month, to provide outreach, assessment and placement of homeless individuals and families in Miami -Dade County; and WHEREAS, the Program has been awarded the same contract for four (4) consecutive years and the multiyear renewals request of said award will expedite grant execution as its year fiscal cycle differs from City of Miami ("City") fiscal year; and WHEREAS, said grant award decreases the need for homeless individuals to travel to the City for services by providing funding for programs to attend the needs of individuals where they are located; and WHEREAS, the City's required matching funds in the amount of $74,558, has been identified from the "City of Miami 2013 Memorandum of Agreement Grant" Account Number 14800.910501.513000.0000.000000; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the for the City Manager to accept said grant award, to establish a new special revenue project for the appropriation of said grant award and to execute an agreement for the implementation of said grant award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: City of Miami Page 1 of 3 Fileid: 13-01069 (Version: 1) Printed On: 9/16/2013 File Number. 13-01069 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are appropriated as described below: FUND TITLE: FUND TITLE: "2013-2014 Miami -Metro Homeless Assistance Program -North" "2013-2014 Miami -Metro Homeless Assistance Program -North" RESOURCES: United States Department of Housing and Urban Development through Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust $298,234 City of Miami 2013 Memorandum of Agreement Grant $74,558 Account No. 14800.910501.513000.0000.00000 APPROPRIATIONS: City of Miami Homeless Assistance program for outreach, information, referral, assessment and placement services to homeless individuals $372,792 Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, in order to implement the acceptance of the Grant, with the option to renew for two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods, with the appropriation of funds subject to Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust's future allocation. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNES. JULIE O. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
