Purpose of Item: A Resolution awarding a contract to Metro Equipment Service, Inc., for an amount not to exceed $1,426,324, for the project entitled "Mechanical Engineering, Services for Lawrence and Riverview Pump Stations, M-0079." Background Information: This project consists of removal and replacement of pumps and motors for two major drainage pump stations: Lawrence Pump Station located at 342 S.W. 7th Avenue and Riverview Pump Station located at 1306/1301 N.W. 6th Street. These stations are part of the City's critical stormwater management infrastructure. On July 9, 2013, the Office of the City Clerk received formal bid #12-13-054 for the project entitled "Mechanical Engineering Services for Lawrence and Riverview Pump Stations, M- 0079;" A total of Four (4) prospective bidders picked up specifications and three (3) contractors submitted bids. Metro Equipment Service, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $1,426,324.00. Funds are allocated from Local Option Gas Tax (LOGT) from CIP Project No B-30992 appropriated as R-12-0143 on April 20, 2012, and Stormwater Utility from CIP Project No B-30992 appropriated as R-12-0206 on May 5, 2013.
