A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING REIMBURSEMENT GRANT ("GRANT") FUNDS FROM THE
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ("COUNTY") BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES GENERAL
OBLIGATION BONDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,569,000, FOR THE
ENGLEWOOD STORM SEWER PROJECT, B-30011, ("PROJECT"); AUTHORIZING
THE REQUIRED CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") FUNDING MATCH TO COMPLETE THE
PROJECT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,055,647, TO BE ALLOCATED
FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NUMBER B-30011; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY FOR THE GRANT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has received an award for a reimbursement grant from the
Miami -Dade County ("County") Building Better Communities General Obligation Bonds ("GOB") for the
Englewood Storm Sewer Project, County Project Number 304-77208 and City Project Number
B-30011 ("Project"), in an amount not to exceed $5,569,000 ("Grant"); and
WHEREAS, the Project scope of work includes the construction of drainage and road
improvements within the Project limits bounded by Southwest 16th Street, Southwest 22nd Street,
Southwest 32nd Avenue and Southwest 27th Avenue, Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, drainage components consist of exfiltration trenches, inlets, and storm sewer pipes
that will be constructed throughout the Project limits; and
WHEREAS, roadway components include, but may not be limited to the milling and resurfacing of
the asphalt pavement, pavement markings, replacing damaged signs, swale regrading and sodding,
damaged sidewalk replacement, related Americans with Disabilities Act components, new curbs or
gutters, and landscaping including new trees within the Project limits; and
WHEREAS, the Interlocal Agreement with the County for the Grant requires the City to fund a
match in the amount of funding necessary to complete the Project, which is not to exceed $2,055,647;
and
WHEREAS, this Resolution accepts GOB reimbursement grant funding, in an amount not to
exceed $5,569,000, authorizes the City's required match in an amount not to exceed $2,055,647, to be
allocated from Capital Improvement Project Number B-30011, and seeks authorization for the City
Manager to execute the attached Interlocal Agreement for the Grant, for said purpose; and
WHEREAS, grant funds are to be appropriated by separate City Commission resolution for the
City's Capital Improvements Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Funds, in an amount not to exceed $5,569,000, consisting of a reimbursement
grant from the County from its GOB, for the Project, are accepted.
Section 3. The City's required funding match to complete the Project is authorized, in an
amount not to exceed $2,055,647, to be allocated from Capital Improvement Project Number B-30011,
is authorized.
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Interlocal Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, for said purpose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor. {2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
