Director., CityManager, s/3 Page 1 of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: Under CDBG program guidelines, the City of Miami cannot have more than one and half times current year's CDBG allocations. The City currently has unallocated CDBG funds in excess of $3 million. The Fire -Rescue Department is in need of funds for purchasing fire fighting and life-saving equipment for use in low and moderate income areas of the City. The Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG Reserve Account funds in the amount of $1,500,000 and allocating said to the City of Miami, Fire -Rescue Department for fire fighting and life- saving equipment for use in low and moderate income areas of the City.
