Subject: Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 334293 Fire Fighting Equipment
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a term contract for the provision of Fire Fighting Equipment for
the Department of Fire -Rescue, with Hall -Mark Fire Apparatus, Municipal Equipment Company,
LLC., North America Fire Equipment -Co., Inc., ("NAFECO"), and Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc., for an
initial contract period of two (2) years with options to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year
periods, for the Department of Fire -Rescue. Authorizing the allocation of funds from the various
sources of the user department(s), subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval at time
of need.
Background Information:
The Department of Fire -Rescue has a need to procure Fire Fighting Equipment, on an as needed
contractual basis. With this purpose, on March 29, 2013, the Purchasing Department issued an
Invitation for Bid (IFB No. 334293). As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised
and issued online. Bids were due and five (5) bids were received on April 16, 2013. The Department
of Purchasing is recommending award to Hall -Mark Fire Apparatus, Municipal Equipment Company,
LLC., North America Fire Equipment Co., Inc., ("NAFECO"), and Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc., the
lowest responsive and responsible bidders, on an item -by -item basis, per bid specifications. The
estimated average annual amount is $58,000.00
