Ms. Lynn Lewis offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI HISTORIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL
PRESERVATION BOARD FAILING TO DESIGNATE AS A HISTORIC SITE THAT
CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1501 BRICKELL AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA,
KNOWN AS ST. JUDE CHURCH BECAUSE, PER THE APPLICABLE PROVISIONS
OF THE CITY CODE, ANY DECISION TO DESIGNATE A SITE AS HISTORIC
REQUIRES A CONCURRING VOTE OF AT LEAST FIVE (5) MEMBERS OF THE
BOARD AND THE MOTION TO DESIGNATE FAILED TO PASS BY A 4 TO 2 VOTE
WHICH EFFECTUATES A FAILURE TO DESIGNATE THIS PROPERTY AS THE
FINAL ACTION OF THE BOARD RELATIVE TO THIS APPLICATION.
Upon being seconded by Mr. Gary Hecht, the motion to designate FAILED by a vote of
4-2:

NAME St. Jude Church

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Final Designation as a Local Individual Historic Resource
ANALYSIS Please see attached designation report.
RECOMMENDATION
The Preservation Office recommends that the Final Designation of St.
Jude Church as a Local Individual Historic Resource be Approved with
Conditions because it is significant in the historical, cultural,
archaeological, paleontological, aesthetic, or architectural heritage of the
city, state, or nation; it possesses integrity of design, setting, materials,
workmanship, feeling, and association; and it meets one or more of the
criteria outlined in Chapter 23 of the City Code.
The Conditions are as follows:
1. The boundary of historic designation shall be as shown on page
3 of the designation report.
2. A signed and sealed survey identifying the boundary of historic
designation shall be provided by the applicant to the City's
Preservation Office within 60 days of designation.
