Background Information: Pursuant to this educational trust fund having been established from certain monies received by the City of Miami ("City") from the recycling program upon the accumulation of interest from the recycling program funds, as prescribed by Section 22-15, a scholarship award may be made for an amount that does not exceed $3,000 annually, to eligible, qualified employees of the City Department of Solid Waste, or the children or legal dependents of these employees, based upon a recommendation from the Director of Solid Waste, which is based on the applicable criteria in the ordinance or documents promulgated under it.
