Law Department Matter ID No. Purpose of Item: An Ordinance amending City Code Section 54-56 to delete the requirement to construct street improvements, including sidewalks, curbs and/or gutters, pavement, modifications to existing drainage systems and sodding, for remodeling, renovation and repair permits. Background Information: City Code Section 54-56 requires the property owner to construct, reconstruct or repair street improvements when adjacent private property is improved by the construction, reconstruction, remodeling, renovation or repair of a building, structure or parking area amounting to $100,000.00 or more in value or 1,000 square feet or more in floor area. Certain private property improvements, namely remodeling, renovations and repairs to existing buildings, structures or parking areas, are not reasonably and substantially related to the requirement to construct, reconstruct or repair street improvements.
