HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-13-0277City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-13-0277 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 13-00712 Final Action Date: 7/11/2013 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $244,350, AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT4 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RESERVE ACCOUNT TO THE CITY OF MIAMI CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM, FOR ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements ("CIP") is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of all construction related capital projects in the City of Miami ("City"), and for the financial management of all capital funds; and WHEREAS, CIP has identified areas in District 4, around Southwest 7th Street, between Southwest 52nd Avenue and Southwest 53rd Avenue, and Southwest 7th Street from Southwest 49th Avenue to Southwest 51stAvenue, Miami, Florida, currently in need of improvements, including roadway milling and resurfacing, along with associated drainage, sidewalk/Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramp, driveway, landscaping, new curbs and pavement markings and signage upgrades; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the transfer of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds in the total amount of $244,350, as specified in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated, to CIP for street improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of CDBG funds, in the total amount of $244,350, as specified in Exhibit "A", from the City Department of Community and Economic Development District 4 Economic Development Reserve Account to CIP, is authorized, for roadway improvements. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 13-00712 (Version: 11 Printed On: 9/5/2017 File Number: 13-00712 Enactment Number: R-13-0277 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
