HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-13-0275City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-13-0275 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 13-00709 Final Action Date: 7/11/2013 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,739,396 FOR HOUSING PROGRAMS, FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2013-2014, IN THE CATEGORIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12-0470, adopted December 13, 2012, the City Commission approved the allocation of Home Investment Partnerships Program ("HOME") funds, in the projected amount of $2,953,344, for housing programs, for Program Year 2013-2014, in the categories specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, for the development of affordable housing; and WHEREAS, on May 28, 2013, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development released the final Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for Fiscal Year 2013, as such, the amount of HOME funds previously recommended needs to be amended, requiring a new public hearing; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the allocation of HOME funds, in the amount of $2,739,396 for housing programs, for Program Year 2013-2014, in the categories specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, for the development of affordable housing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of HOME funds, in the amount of $2,739,396, for housing programs, for Program Year 2013-2014, in the categories specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, for the development of affordable housing, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 13-00709 (Version: 11 Printed On: 9/5/2017 File Number: 13-00709 Enactment Number: R-13-0275 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
