Purpose of Item: Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an Agreement with Miami River Fund, Inc., the financial agency for the Miami River Commission, to continue providing educational programs for the City of Miami for a three (3) year term commencing on October 1, 2013 and ending on September. 30, 2016 in an annual amount not to exceed $30,000 for a total amount not to exceed $90,000. - • allocating funds from the Stormwater Utility Fund account No. 00001.208000.531000.0000.00000=v Background Information: The City of Miami has pledged an annual fair share support for the Miami River Commission pursuant to Section 18-298(6) of the City Code. Additionally, the Public Works Department requires specific services related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit issued by Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), in the areas of education, awareness, identification and implementation of solutions to problems related to the Miami River. This Agreement will provide for the continuation of the operation and educational programs of the Miami River Commission that Public Works Department uses for the yearly NPDES submittal for the City of Miami Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit.
