A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF U.
S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ENTITLEMENT GRANT FUNDS,
IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $18,794,119, AS STATED HEREIN, FOR THE FOLLOWING
PROGRAMS: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG"), HOME INVESTMENT
PARTNERSHIPS ("HOME"), HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS
("HOPWA"), AND THE EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT ("ESG"), FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2013-
2014; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S) TO
IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE ACTUAL AMOUNTS OF GRANT FUNDS WHEN
MADE AVAILABLE FOR SAID PURPOSE.

Background Information:
The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") provides the City of Miami
("City") entitlement grants annually under the following programs: CDBG, HOME, HOPWA, and
ESG.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 12-0465, adopted December 13, 2012, the Miami City Commission
approved the acceptance of HUD entitlement grant funds, in the total projected amount of
$20,732,282 for the following Programs: CDBG, HOME, HOPWA,and ESG for Program Year 2013-
2014.
On May 28, 2013, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") released the
final Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for FY2013, which
included reductions, requiring a new public hearing.
The Administration recommends accepting HUD Entitlement Grant Funds, in the total amount of
$18,794,119 as stated herein, for the following programs: CDBG, HOME, HOPWA, and ESG for
Fiscal Year 2013-2014.
