Hannon City Clerk Date: May 15, 2013 Subject: Miami Bayside Foundation References: Agenda for June 13, 2013 Enclosures: List of members The Miami Bayside Foundation is a nonprofit organization designed to advance economic development in the City of Miami through support of minority businesses and education. The Miami Bayside Foundation currently provides minority businesses in the City of Miami access to funds through a loan program. It also provides invaluable business tools and resources such as counseling and training in business development and management and other related services, through partnerships with local community organizations engaged in economic development. Each member of the City Commission nominates one individual to serve on the Foundation. Three (3) appointments are required at this time: • Vice Chair Wifredo (Willy) Gort has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Pablo Perez -Cisneros, incumbent, whose term expired on May 13, 2013. • Commissioner Francis Suarez has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Louis McMillian, incumbent, whose term expires on June 10, 2013. • Commissioner Spence -Jones has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Beatrice Louissaint, incumbent, whose term expired on March 11, 2013. For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this item on the June 13, 2013, Commission agenda.
