Corporation d/b/a N&J Construction for the Caribbean Marketplace Renovations Project, B-30671.
Purpose of Item:
To authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Contract with Perez-Gurri Corporation d/b/a N&T
Construction, for additional work for the Caribbean Marketplace Renovations Project, B-30671 (Project), increasing
the contract by $10,120, for a total not to exceed award value of $883,582.45. The additional work is necessary due to
unforeseen • conditions such as repairs to the existing strap concrete beam, change of size of the exterior door and
frame, and the addition of a new backflow preventer and Fire Department connection Iine.
Background Information:
Pursuant to Resolution No. 12-0273, adopted July 26, 2012, the City Commission authorized the execution of a
Contract with Perez=Gurri Corporation d/b/a N&J Construction (N&J) for the Caribbean Marketplace Renovations
Project, B-30671, in the amount of $831,869 for the scope of work, plus a five percent (5%) owner contingency
amount of $41,593.45, for a total not to exceed award value of $873,462.45.
Additional work, in the amount of $10,120 is necessary due to unforeseen conditions. This Amendment No. 1
increases the contract by $10,120, for a total not to exceed award value of $883,582.45. Funds are to be allocated from
Capital Improvement Project No. B-30671.
