A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT A DONATION VALUED AT APPROXIMATELY $45,000
FROM CONNOR SPORTS, FORA NEW BASKETBALL FLOOR AND ON -COURT
SIGNAGE AT THE PROPOSED GIBSON PARK GYM LOCATED AT 401
NORTHWEST 12 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE
CITY ATTORNEY, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
DONATION.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. CRA-R-12-0068, adopted September 24, 2012, the
Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency
("SEOPW CRA"), authorized a grant in the amount of $200,000 to the University of Miami
("University") to conduct film -related job training; and
WHEREAS, the SEOPW CRA and the University entered into a Grant Agreement to conduct
the Film Institute Job Training Program; and
WHEREAS, Connor Sports ("Sponsor"), the Townsend Entertainment Corporation and the
SEOPW CRA entered into a Sponsorship Agreement on January 23, 2013; and
WHEREAS, the Sponsor desires to make a donation towards the operation of the Film Institute
Job Training Program, in exchange for certain credits and marketing opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the Sponsor also agrees to provide the materials for a new basketball floor and
on -court signage, at the proposed Gibson Park Gym valued at $45,000; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept said donation;
NOW THEREFORE BE ►T RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to accept a donation valued at approximately
$45,000 from the Sponsor, for a new basketball floor and on -court signage at the proposed Gibson
Park Gym located at 401 Northwest 12 Street, Miami, Florida.
Section 3: The City Manager is further authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, in
a form acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement the acceptance of said donation.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor. {2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subjected to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City of Miami Commission.
