To Whom It May Concern:
In the fall of 2009, the Florida State Department of Health purchased and began implementing a
statewide patient tracking solution (DOH07-013 Communications and Patient Tracking System).
The system called EMTrack was purchased to enable local Health Departments, First
Responders, Fire and EMS Agencies, Hospitals and Disaster Management personnel to
seamlessly capture patient information and communicate in large scale events, mass casualty
incidents, evacuations, and in daily patient encounters.
Since the rollout of the solution began, providers, agencies and regional coordinators across the
state have been working to ensure the solution can meet the demands of its end users. As the
state has already purchase the primary backend component of the solution, they have asked
that local agencies only purchase field hardware to plug into the solution to supplement their
own use. By acquiring this hardware, end users become empowered by increasing mobility,
participating in custom -fit workflows, and in enhancing cross -functional and agency
communication.
This letter includes information about lntermedix EMSystems' multi -functional patient tracking
solution, EMTrack", including the EMTrack Mobile MC75A Bundles provided by Intermedix
EMSystems and already purchased, installed and used throughout Region 7 (Broward, Miami -
Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties) and the State of Florida.
Intermedix EMSystems is a recognized leading provider of comprehensive and interoperable
technology solutions for emergency preparedness and response within the healthcare
continuum. Serving more than 75% of the nation's population, lntermedix EMSystems'
solutions are used by thousands of hospitals, EMS providers, fire departments, law enforcement
agencies and state/local departments of health. These comprehensive solutions improve real-
time communications, multi -media alerting, inventory resource allocation, volunteer registry
management, patient and evacuee tracking, and pre -hospital patient care records to enhance
emergency preparedness and response to medical emergencies, mass casualty events, and
public health incidents.

Intermedix EMSystems is the only source for the purchase of EMTrack'M. There are no reseller
agreements in place with other providers. The options described here serve as plug-in modules
for the solution. No other software solution is capable of providing the same functionality that
interfaces directly with the EMTrack solution already provided throughout the State of Florida.
Overview of EMTrack"
EMTrackTM is an industry -leading, proven tracking solution that supports the tracking of people,
pets, and associated property and equipment. The intuitive and secure design supports a
common operating picture to facilitate interoperable communications among different agencies
and organizations. Response and support teams can effectively track, coordinate, and manage
patient or individual movements throughout the continuum of care including at the scene,
transport, destination, discharge and promote the family reunification process.
The solution is flexible and comprehensive, enabling tracking needs including:
Large -Scale Evacuee Management
Hospital Evacuation
Daily Patient Tracking
MCI Patient Tracking
Public Health and Pandemic Response
Large Event Management
EMTrack supports the management of patient and evacuee surges due to natural or man-made
events, alternate site movements, or day-to-day EMS patient transport operations and hospital
resource management. EMTrack's intuitive design enables teams to utilize the solution quickly
to effectively track, coordinate, and manage patient movements and assist with the family
reunification process.
Deliver comprehensive and flexible tracking of patient movements ranging in all -scale
emergencies to day-to-day requirements
Support interagency mass patient and evacuee movement
Improve decision making support for patient and evacuee planning
Harness robust reporting capabilities and search tools for patient management, family
reunification, and post -event reports
Strengthen compliance requirements with HHS /Joint Commission / AHRQ Patient and
Evacuee Tracking Initiatives
Ensure hospital readiness for progressive and spontaneous evacuations through
automated patient, equipment, and personal belonging tracking
EMTrack" Mobile MC75A Bundles and Accessories
EMTrack is one total tracking solution, utilizing a web -based infrastructure and field -deployed
devices to transmit protected health information during mass casualty incidents, hospital
evacuations, public health emergencies, and large events. Field hardware is an optional
component of the solution but when leveraged, serves to greatly increase the value, adoption
and simplicity with which EMTrack can be deployed.
The variants of the MC75A bundle and applicable accessories marketed by Intermedix
EMSystems are the only models certified and validated for use with the EMTrack Solution.
There may be other comparable devices with similar features and operation, but they have not
been thoroughly tested with EMTrack, and would therefore not be considered supported
peripherals. There are many variants of the MC75A itself and the base model, accessories, and
components have been carefully and consciously selected as the choice supported items.
The following benefits are included with the purchase of EMTrack Supplemental Hardware from
Intermedix EMSystems:
Guaranteed EMTrack Mobile Handheld, EMTrack ASP and EMTrack Desktop
compatibility
Hardware certification, environmental testing, and configuration process for field use.
Design and execution of Intermedix EMSystems' quality control process.
Project management without additional hourly billing
Maintaining the security of data within EMTrackrm when Intermedix EMSystems is the
sole provider of system components (Intermedix EMSystems utilizes bidirectional TLS-
grade security to ensure the secure transfer of protected health information within the
total EMTrack tracking solution).
All hardware peripherals Intermedix EMSystems markets in Florida are viewed as bolt -on
modules to support the Florida Department of Health statewide Patient Tracking initiative and
contract already in place (DOH07-013 Communications and Patient Tracking System).
Additionally, Intermedix EMSystems is a Premier Motorola Partner, granting significantly greater
access to hardware support resources, more aggressive pricing, as well as priority ordering
power and access for orders placed with us. Region 7 has already elected to purchase significant
quantities of hardware bundles from Intermedix EMSystems and supplemental/accessory
purchases in the future will guarantee ongoing compatibility with the previous investment.
Intermedix EMSystems has significant expertise in the integration, deployment, and support of
field hardware, software, and communications infrastructure used for tracking people, patients,
patients and evacuees. This experience ensures reliability and cost -savings in the specific
selection of hardware, such to eliminate errors associated with alternate procurement channels.
Intermedix EMSystems is confident that the combination of our proven track record, industry
expertise, strong partnerships throughout the State of Florida, and numerous statewide
implementations of communications and tracking solutions can provide a strong partnership to
achieve the goals of the Florida regions and task forces.
Sincerely,
€44 47,.
