Subject: Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 333292 Law Enforcement Helmets
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a term contract for the purchase of Law Enforcement Helmets
for the Department of Police, with Super Seer Corporation, for an initial contractual period of two (2)
years with option to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods, allocating funds from the
various sources of funds of the Department of Police, subject to availability of funds and budgetary
approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The Purchasing Department has identified a need to establish a term contract for Law Enforcement
Helmets. On September 5, 2012, the Purchasing Department issued Invitation for Bid No. 333292.
As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued on line. On September 21,
2013, at the bid opening, two (2) bidders, responded, and the bids have been tabulated. Super Seer
Corporation, non -local, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid per specifications and is
therefore recommended for the award. The estimated annual spend will be approximately $13,000,
with a total estimated spend for the entire'term of the contract of $66,000.
