HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 13-00278 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE PROCUREMENT OF DISASTER DEBRIS REMOVAL MONITORING SERVICES FROM O'BRIEN'S RESPONSE MANAGEMENT, LLC, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING OVERSIGHTAND MANAGEMENT OF DEBRIS REMOVAL CONTRACTORS DURING DISASTER RESPONSE RECOVERY, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE, ON AN AS -NEEDED, CONTRACTUAL BASIS, UTILIZING EXISTING SCHOOL BOARD OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS CONTRACT NO. 006-LL10, EFFECTIVE UNTIL JUNE 14, 2018, SUBJECT TO ANY FURTHER EXTENSIONS OR REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS BY THE SCHOOL BOARD OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE VARIOUS SOURCES OF FUNDS FROM THE USER DEPARTMENT AND AGENCIES, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT THE TIME OF NEED. WHEREAS, the City of Miami's "piggyback" of the School Board of Miami -Dade County contract for the provision of disaster debris removal monitoring services, pursuant to Request for Proposals ("RFPs") No. 006-LL10, will enable the Department of Solid Waste to receive assistance in the oversight and management of debris removal contractors during disaster response recovery; and WHEREAS, Section 18-111 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, allows for the use and adoption of contracts from any other federal, state, county or municipal government in lieu of other competitive bidding procedures; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth,in this Section. Section 2. The procurement of disaster debris removal monitoring services from O'Brien's Response Management, LLC, for the purpose of providing oversight and management of debris removal contractors during disaster response recovery, for the Department of Solid Waste, on an as -needed, contractual basis, utilizing existing School Board of Miami -Dade County RFPs Contract No. 006-LL10, effective until June 14, 2018, subject to any further extensions or replacement contracts by the School Board of Miami -Dade County, is authorized, with funds allocated from the various sources of funds from the user department and agencies, subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval at the time of need. Section 3.
