Director Page 1 of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: Pursuant to Resolution No.13-0001, adopted January 10, 2013, the Miami City Commission approved the transfer of CDBG close out funds in the total amount of $438,640.30; specifically $348,640.30 to the City's Department of Community & Economic Development CDBG Reserve account for future citywide eligible activities. CIP is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of all construction related capital projects in the City of Miami, and for the financial management of all capital funds. City of Miami Fire Station No. 5, located at 1200 Northwest 20th Street; Miami, FL is currently in disrepair and in need of rehabilitation. Fire Station No. 5 serves a portion of Allapattah having approximately 73% low-income residents. The Administration recommends the allocation of CDBG funds in the amount of $348,640 from the Department of Community and Economic Development CDBG Reserve Account to CIP for the rehabilitation of Fire Station No. 5
