Subject: Ordinance Amending City Code, Chapter 53, establishing a ticket surcharge for sightseeing
boat tours at Miamarina at Bayside.
Purpose ahem,:
An Ordinance of the Miami City Commission amending Chapter 53/Article I of the Code of the City of
Miami, Florida, as amended, entitled "Stadiums and Convention Centers/In General," more
particularly by amending Section 53-1 to Include City -owned marinas at City facilities for purposes of
requiring a ticket surcharge on paid admissions to sightseeing boat tours; containing a severability
clause and providing for an effective date.
Background Information:
The Department of Public Facilities recommends establishing a ticket surcharge for admissions to
sightseeing boat tours at Miamarina at Bayside, with the potential to generate a minimum of $1
Million in recurring revenues for the City. The Department further recommends that a fulitime
Assistant Marinas Manager position be created to property monitor and collect such revenue.
