• Administered, supervised and reported on the successful implementation of the $12.5 million Miami -Dade
Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program, which included 12 projects across eight County
departments such as energy management projects, renewable/alternative energy programs, capital/construction
projects, outreach, sub -grants and residential/business incentive programs.
• Planned, directed and coordinated a variety of high-level, administrative functions including personnel
administration, business plan development, performance reporting, budget preparation and monitoring, agenda
item preparation, federal and state legislative requests, purchasing and accounts payable.
• Worked with the County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, federal and state agencies, municipalities,
County departments, chambers of commerce, educational institutions, non -profits, and business and civic
leaders to educate and promote County policies, programs and operations,
• Prepared and made presentations to elected officials, County staff, and community and national organizations.
• Coordinated the public outreach, education, community awareness programs and internal County
communications, as well as media/public relations activities, dedicated to the dissemination of information on the
County's sustainability programs.
• Developed and executed the County's first -ever, and award -winning, internal and external sustainability outreach
program, which has resulted in a reduction of 7,974 metric tons of CO2e or $1,426,754 a year in energy savings
• Effectively branded the County's sustainability efforts, creating a cross -cutting umbrella for all County agencies
• Conceptualized, developed and maintained content for the County's first -ever green website,
green.miamidade.gov and employee green resource intranet site, g-Net.
Miami -Dade County — County Executive Office Miami, Florida
Assistant to the County Manager July 2003 to August 2009
• Administered operational elements of the $6 billion County government, overseeing and gaining in-depth
experience in sustainability, public safety, internal support operations, communications, human resources, water
and waste infrastructure, capital improvement, and business development.
• Coordinated assignments with County agencies; formulated, analyzed or approved policy items; formulated
and/or reviewed a variety of correspondence for the County Manager; interacted with constituents,
municipalities, and businesses regarding County issues.
• Developed management policies and procedures, annual reports, internal employee communications,
presentations, speeches and talking points for the County Mayor and Manager.
• Staffed the Budget and Finance, Public Safety and Government Operations committees of the Board.
• Participated in the development of goals/objectives, performance measures, strategic planning, and coordinated
executive management quarterly meetings.
• Staffed the 2008-09 Miami -Dade Strategic Plan Re -Write.
• Facilitated activities for the 2007-08 Charter Review Task Force, including website development,
meeting/workshop logistics, public outreach, and coordination of research/reports.
• Managed the County Manager's Management Trainee Program and created the Urban Fellows Program.
City of Miami Beach — Office of Tourism & Cultural Development Miami Beach, Florida
Special Events Coordinator August 2000 -- July 2003
• Marketed the City of Miami Beach as a destination for quality events, including Art Basel Miami Beach, South
Beach Wine and Food Festival, MTV Latin Video Music Awards and the Miami ING Marathon.
• Produced and managed large-scale special events for the City of Miami Beach.
• Created and implemented the City of Miami Beach Major Events Plan, a plan still utilized by the City.

• Coordinated city and county services for events on public property, and supported events on public property and
other properties requiring special zoning exemptions.
• Developed and assisted event producers with guidelines and permit requirements.
• Worked closely with City Commission and staff, federal and state agencies, businesses and Miami Beach
neighborhood associations with adherence to and maintenance of events criteria.

Media Relations Coordinator May 1998— July 2000
• Coordinated media relations matters including organizing press conferences and press materials, developing
Mayor talking points and speeches, fielding media calls, and coordinating interviews and public appearances.
• Served as the Chief Liaison to the Mayor's Marketing Council, whose responsibility was to bring together
agencies responsible for marketing Miami -Dade to create a coordinated internal/external pride campaign.
• Created and managed the Mayor's photo and video archives, and developed a user-friendly web portal for the
Mayor's Office.
