Subject: Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) Grant Application for the construction of a new
dinghy dock for the mooring facility at Dinner Key Marina
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing the City Manager to
submit an application for grant funding to the Florida Inland Navigation District ("FIND") Waterways
Assistance Program, in an amount not to exceed $75,000 for the construction of the Dinner Key
Marina Dinghy Dock ("Project"); authorizing the allocation of the .required matching funds for fifty
percent (50%) of the project costs, in an amount not to exceed $75,000 to be provided by Capital
Improvement Project 40-B30735.Award 1437 for a total project cost of $150,000; further authorizing
the City Manager to execute any other necessary documents for the submission of said grant
application, the execution of grant or deed agreements and amendments, and the acceptance of
grant funds in the event of the, award of the grant for fiscal year 2013 — 2014.
Background Information:
The Office of Grants Administration is seeking City Commission authorization to apply for $75,000 in
grant funding from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) for the construction of a new dinghy
dock for the mooring facility at Dinner Key Marina. The item includes language by Rule 66B-2,
Florida Administrative Code, for grant submission to the Waterways Assistance. Program.
