Subject: Resolution establishing a new Special Revenue project entitled "NEA Grant -Our Town 2012-
13 and acceptance of a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachment(s) authorizing the City Managerto
accept a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, for the
establishment of a new Special Revenue project entitled "NEA Grant Our Town 2012-2013"
("Project"); authorizing the allocation of the required matching of non-federal funds and in -kind
services, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, for a total project cost not to exceed $100,000;
authorizing the City Manager to execute any and all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to
the City Attorney, for the acceptance and administration of said grant, the execution of the grant
based on the Award Letter and General Terms and Conditions attached, and the acceptance and
appropriation of matching funds.
The City of .Miami - Little Haiti Cultural Center has been awarded a grant from the National
Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in the total amount of $50,000.00 to help support activities that include
"Big Night in Little Haiti" music events, annual day of free arts performances and exhibitions, youth
and family dance and art programs and the establishment of a "Haitian Heritage Art Program". This
Resolution appropriates the grant and establishes a new Special Revenue Project, for said purpose
and further authorizes the City Manager to execute all of the documents necessary to accept the
awards. PATEO is to be determined once the project is established.
