Subject: Revocable License Agreement with The National Journalists' Association of Cuba in Exile, Inc. for
the use of City of Miami -owned property located at 970 SW 1 Street, Offices 400-401
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing the City Manager {1) to execute a
Revocable License Agreement ("Agreement"), in substantially the attached form, between the City of Miami
("City") and The National Journalists' Association of Cuba in Exile, Inc., a Florida non-profit corporation
("Licensee"), for the use of approximately 520.5 square feet of City -owned property located at 970 SW 1
Street, Offices 400-401, Miami, Florida ("Property"), for the purpose of providing office space for the
unification of Cuban, journalists living in exile, commencing from the Effective Date, with the licensee to pay a
monthly use fee to the city of Two Hundred Sixty -Eight Dollars and 06/100 ($268.06), plus State of Florida Use
Tax (if applicable), with additional terms and conditions as more particularly set forth in said Agreement.

Subject: Revocable License Agreement with The National Journalists' Association of Cuba in Exile, Inc. for
the use of City of Miami -owned property located at 970 SW 1 Street, Offices 400-401
Background Information:
The Licensee has occupied 428.60 square feet of City -owned property located at 900 SW 1 Street, Office 200
since before entering into a Revocable License Agreement with City on August 1, 2000. The Licensee's
organizational purpose is to provide unification of Cuban journalists living in exile through community activities.
The Licensee has expressed an interest in moving into a new space, located at 970 SW 1 Street,. Offices 400-401,
totaling 520.5 square feet. The Licensee has provided written notification to the City requesting that the City
reconsider the rate to be charged for the use of the new and larger space, as the rates for the City -owned
property located at 970 SW 1 Street are governed through Resolution 08-0070, and approve the move into the
new space at the rate it currently pays, which is $6.18 per square foot.
The terms of the Agreement include such language as the Agreement being revocable at will, the Licensee being
able to move into the desired office space and remitting a monthly Use Fee payment to the City of Two Hundred
Sixty -Eight Dollars and 06/100 ($268.06), plus State of Florida Use Tax (if applicable), and other additional terms
and condition more specifically set forth in the Agreement.
