A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING A REIMBURSEMENT GRANT AWARD, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $29,490 FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ("DEP") ADMINISTERING FEDERAL FUNDS
FROM THE NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION
("NOAA") COOPERATIVE AWARD COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
(DEP AGREEMENT NO. CM311) ("GRANT AGREEMENT"), WITH A LOCAL
MATCH PROVIDED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") IN THE AMOUNT OF NOT
TO EXCEED $29,490 TO THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION ("DEPARTMENT"); ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE
PROJECT ENTITLED: "RESTORING COASTAL MIAMI 2012-2013," TO FUND THE
DEPARTMENT'S RESTORING COASTAL MIAMI PROJECT ("PROJECT");
ALLOCATING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR ITS OPERATION AND A
LOCAL IN -KIND MATCH FROM THE CITY VALUED AT NOT TO EXCEED $29,490;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT
AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, AND TO PROVIDE
ALL OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND
MODIFICATIONS IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENTACCEPTANCE OF AND
COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Department of Parks and Recreation ("Department") has
previously requested funding from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP") to
provide funding for the Restoring Coastal Miami Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Project was nominated by DEP for funding pending approval from the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ("NOAA"); and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a reimbursement grant by NOAA to be administered by
DEP in the amount of -not to exceed $29,490, with a in -kind match in the amount of not to exceed
$29,490 to be provided by the City for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the City must execute DEP Agreement No. CM311 ("Grant Agreement") in
substantially the attached form, to accept said reimbursement grant for the Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1: The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2: The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept a reimbursement grant award in an
amount not to exceed $29,490 from the DEP administering federal funds from the NOAA Cooperative
Award Coastal Zone Management Program (DEP Agreement No. CM311 ("Grant Agreement') with a
local in -kind match provided by the City in the amount of not to exceed $29,490, to be allocated and
appropriated to the Department to fund the Project.
Section 3. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
allocated and appropriated as described below:
FUND TITLE: Restoring Coastal Miami 2012-2013
RESOURCES: State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection,
Coastal Zone Management Program (Administering National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Cooperative Award) $29,490
City's In -Kind Match $29,490
APPROPRIATIONS: Restoring Coastal Miami 2012-2013 $58,980
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the Grant Agreement, in substantially
the attached form, and to provide all other necessary documents, amendments, extensions, and
modifications in order to implement acceptance of and compliance with said grant award for the
Project.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subjected to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
