Background Information:
The City of Miami entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the FBI in October 2009 for the
Miami Police Department's sworn members' participation on the South American Theft Group Task
Force. In addition, we also entered into a South American Theft Group Task Force Cost
Reimbursement Agreement in January of 2010 for the acceptance of overtime reimbursement
expenditures to the City.
The FBI has revised the MOU and the Cost Reimbursement Agreement to include renaming the task
force from South American Theft Group Task Force to Miami Metropolitan Major Theft Task Force. The
execution of both revised documents will allow for additional reimbursement funding to the City of
Miami Police Department.
