Purpose of Item: To authorize Amendment No. 3 to the grant agreement with MMOS, which increases the grant amount by $548,375, from $2,151,625 to a total amount not to exceed $2,700,000, to support the development of a new science museum and planetarium facility ("Project") in the City of Miami owned Bicentennial Park. MMOS has secured and provided evidence of the required match of $548,375. The updated scope of work and project budget are detailed in Exhibit A-3, attached and incorporated. Funds are available from Capital Improvement Project No. B-78502A, entitled "Miami Science Museum - Development in Bicentennial Park". Background Information: MMOS has requested funds to support development activities related to the Project, including exhibit prototyping and design costs. This amendment also releases the remaining funds allocated to. MMOS, .approved by a referendum of the voters in November, 2001, as a specified project in the Homeland Defense Neighborhood Improvement bond program. The funds will be, provided on a reimbursement basis and are subject to the requirements of the Homeland Defense/Neighborhood Improvement bond program.
