Our mission is to serve the public by coordinating the implementation of Capital
Projects related to construction and design services, and improving the quality of
life throughout city neighborhoods.
Goals and Objectives for CIP 2013
• Staff reorganization
* Design timeframe reduction
o CIP management driven schedules not consultant driven schedules
* Procurement timeframe reduction
o CIP procurement process timeline
• Construction contract time reduction
o CIP management schedule development
o Bids to include time and cost for consideration (Mgr rec)
* Project tracking software re -vamp
* Develop project expedite list
• Work more closely with Public Works
• Increase # ofJOC Contractors with emphasis on timeframe and liquidated
damages
• Increase # of Engineering consultant pool
• Prepare CIP Plan including project/funding forecast and appropriations
• Fully implement trolley system and insure it's safe and efficient operation
