HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 12-01385 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION [OPPOSING/SUPPORTING] ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL'S REQUEST TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT") TO CLOSE THE NORTH BOUND LANES OF BISCAYNE BOULEVARD FROM THE CHOPIN PLAZA TO NORTHEAST 6TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, FORA TWO -WEEKEND EVENT ON MARCH 15, 2013 , THROUGH MARCH 17, 2013 AND MARCH 22, 2013 THROUGH MARCH 24, 2013; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMITA COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO FDOT. WHEREAS, the Ultra Music Festival has made a request to the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") to close the north bound lanes of Biscayne Boulevard from Chopin Plaza to Northeast 6th Street, Miami, Florida, for a two -weekend event on March 15, 2013 through March 17, 2013 and March 22, 2013 through March 24, 2013; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Miami City Commission [opposes/supports] l tra Music Festival's request to the FDOT to close the north bound lanes of Biscayne Boulevard from Chopin Plaza to Northeast 6th Street, Miami, Florida, for a two -weekend event on March 15, 2013 through March 17, 2013 and March 22, 2013 through March 24, 2013. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to FDOT. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS JULIE O. BRU CITY ATTORNEY .0- Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
