Background Information: The Department of Police is seeking for the:City to enter into an agreement for a fully managed, hosted NG911 solution that would replace the current E911 infrastructure at both the primary E911 site at the Miami Police Central Station and the backup site at the Miami Fire College. The new system will replace the current analog system, which has been deemed end of life because it is no Ionger manufactured, and will reduce the overall long term costs and improve the reliability, upkeep, and maintenance 'Of the system. This new system will also provide the City with the most advanced technology currently available in the market. AT&T is the only company that can provide this kind of fully managed, hosted solution for 911 equipment, located in 2 geographically.diverse AT&T offices, and co -located to the network connection points that service the City: In an effort to assist the Police Department in the selection of the best solution, Informal Request for Proposals No. 284273 was issued to AT&T so that they may propose various hosted solution options for the City to consider.. AT&T providedan oral presentation and functional demonstration to the evaluation committee and the .committee was also allowed to ask technical questions: After deliberation, the evaluation committee recommended that the City enter into negotiations with AT&T to. provide the fully managed, hosted NG911 solution. • Budget Impact Analysis NO • Is this item related to revenue?
