BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,330 FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT- DISTRICT 5 RESERVE
ACCOUNT; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
& ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MICRO -ENTERPRISE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, FOR SAID PURPOSE(S).

Background Information:
Pursuant to Resolution Number 12-0060, adopted February 23, 2012 , the Miami City Commission
approved the allocation of Program Year 2012-2013 CDBG funds to the City's. Department of
Community Development Economic Development Reserves Account in the amount of $1,160,716;
specifically to District 5 Reserve Account in the amount of $41,458.
On August 7, 2012, a Request for Proposal (RFP)for the Micro -Enterprise Assistance Program was
issued for a one-year period with the option to extend such contract for an additional year, subject to
the availability of funds and the businesses meeting their contractual obligation.
The Administration recommends the transfer of funds, in the amount of $31,330 from the Department
of Community & Economic Development — District 5 Economic Development Reserve Account to the
City's Department of Community & Economic Development Micro -Enterprise Assistance Program to
provide assistance to successful micro -enterprises in the RFP.
