Background Information:
As part of the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) project, the Florida Department of Transportation
("FDOT") constructed roadway improvements on NW 14th Street between NW 42"a Court and NW 34th
Avenue. To facilitate the construction of the improvements, the City, by Resolution No. 01-010,
transferred this portion of NW 14th Street to the FDOT. The FDOT has completed the roadway
improvements fulfilling the purpose for which the roadway was transferred. The City and the FDOT
have mutually agreed to transfer this portion of NW 14th Street back to the City. The City shall re-
assume the perpetual maintenance of NW 14th Street, including a street lighting system. Since the City
does not have the materials or equipment necessary to properly maintain the street lighting system,
Miami -Dade County has offered to enter into an agreement with the City to perform the maintenance of
the system on the portion of NW 14th Street between NW 42" Avenue and NW 37th Avenue.
