HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 12-01325 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $33,000, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE MIAMI-DADE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION, FOR THE MIAMI REGIONAL INTERMODAL PLAN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; ALLOCATING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,000, FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. B-30645F. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") applied for and has been awarded a grant in the amount of $33,000 from the Miami -Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization ("MPO") under the Fiscal Year 2012 -2013 Municipal Grant Program to assist in the preparation of the Miami Regional Intermodal Plan; and WHEREAS, the grant requires a minimum City match of $15,000, which has been identified from Capital Improvement Project No. B-30645F; and WHEREAS, the Miami Regional Intermodal Plan is a study of the transportation facilities in an area of the City bounded by the Miami River to the north, Brickell Avenue (SR 5/US 1) to the east, Southwest 8th Street to the south, and Northwest 57th Avenue to the west, Miami, Florida ("Study"); and WHEREAS, the Study will further identify alternatives to improve transportation connectivity between destinations of regional importance; and WHEREAS, grant funds are to be appropriated by separate resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Funds, in an amount not to exceed $33,000, consisting of a grant award from the MPO, for the Study, are accepted. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Interlocal Agreement, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4. The City's required matching funds, in an amount not to exceed $15,000, are allocated from Capital Improvement Project No. B-30645F. B CITY ATTORNEY AdR Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements thatmay be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
